"In this age of social media, the conflict between public and private lives has never been greater. How many ‘on show, online’ lives actually reflect the ‘reality’? Curtains are illustrative of the barriers we create between our private and public lives, either to prevent the outside looking in or to provide a screen to hide behind while looking out. They address the question do we really know what goes on behind closed doors?  I believe homes have personalities as a result of who lives inside them and whether innocent or intentional, concealment and secrecy are part of everyday life. Family life and personal experiences have influenced and are a consistent presence within my work.

My practice has been focused on how these experiences can be transformed into work while at the same time being distanced from their source.

Predominantly sculptural, my practice constantly questions how materials can be used and developed, with methodical documentation through photography and text (which often becomes work in its own right)."

Exhibited at Griffin Gallery in Young Gods in January 2016.
