Inbal Strauss

Previously educated as an industrial designer, Strauss sees art as a form of three-dimensional storytelling and ‘design sculptures’ which promote a discourse around questions of formalism, utilitarianism, failure and different subversions of function.

Inbal Strauss creates imagined objects that seem functional but are in fact only reminiscent of functionality.  Each part of each object is meticulously fabricated, with each method of fabrication precisely matched to the ideology behind it. Nothing is left to chance.

Exhibited at Griffin Gallery in Perfectionism in July-August 2014.
