Film Screening | The Colourmen

‘The Colourmen’ outlines the history of Winsor & Newton, demonstrating its methods of manufacturing art materials, including sable brushes and paints, by using methods based on sound historic practices.  Scenes in the Artists Colourmens Room show some of the more unusual pigments used.  The film was intended for art societies, students and shop assistants, highlighting how art materials are made and the use of new technology and processes at the time.
