Open Studio | Corrie Baldauf & Mark Connolly
Mon 3 October 2016 4:00pm – 8:00pm
Corrie Baldauf and Mark Connolly are the current artists in residency at Griffin Gallery. On Monday 3rd October, Corrie and Mark will host an Open Studio from 4pm to 8pm on 4th floor of The Studio Building.
For 2016, Griffin Gallery are in partnership with Residency Unlimited in New York. Corrie Baldauf, our resident artist from Detroit, undertaking the three month International Residency, records marks based on the length and wingspan of her arms, referencing both Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man and the making a snow angel.
Mark Connolly, our Project Based resident artist, opens his studio to the public. Mark is working on an ongoing exploration into fictional, constructed lands entitled 'Slow Heights'. The drawings are made in an accumulative fashion, overlapping and overwriting observations over observations before filtering foreign matter into the depicted spaces.
All welcome!
