"My work explores the tension between something abstract and figurative, of a work being noticeable for singularly capturing both the essence and the absence of the body within it.
Grounded in drawing, and obsessing over different qualities of the cut, printed and hand-drawn line, there is a contemplativeness and introversion about my art, and a delicacy and curiosity - this contrasts with the often violent techniques utilised throughout the making process.
I enjoy exploring playful and subtle bodily associations within my work, conjuring up an imagery of excess, using the title as a way into understanding but also withholding some part, leaving them quite open to interpretation.
I relish being able to scrutinise something at length and seeing beauty in something fleeting or otherwise looked over."
