Residency: Project Based

Tess Williams

18 December 2017 – 12 January 2018

The Residency:

Project Based Residencies at Griffin Gallery are shorter residencies offering artists studio space, materials and specialised knowledge.  Artists are encouraged to develop innovative projects focussed on the interaction, composition or application of Fine Art materials.

Tess Williams:

"For the last few years the basis of my painting research has been photography of urban decay and the gritty physical details of city life: the composition of dilapidated buildings, the form and colours of peeling paint, the juxtaposition between a shiny façade and fading graffiti.  These images that I take are often starting points for the finished paintings. However, I have yet to completely combine the two."

Exhibited at Griffin Gallery in Young Gods in January 2016.
